January 14th Announcements

The sermon this week will focus on the celebration of the baptism of the Lord.

In other baptism news, our very own Curtis will be baptized at the 11 o'clock service.  The Honeymooners will have a celebratory lunch at Texadelphia after church.  Please join us!

Manna Bags on sales this week.

The FUM Preschool Family Music Festival is happening on February 26th from 9:30-1:00.  The band is Trout Fishing in America who, by the way, have won four Grammy's.  You can buy your tickets online and get other info about the event on their website.  It's super cool, so check it out and forward to your friends!

We have signed up to provide a warm lunch for the 45 habitat builders on April 30th.  We can discuss how we want to do this (potluck vs. collect money and buy premade food) as the date gets closer.

There are several dates available for you to participate in the Habitat Methodist Build in the months of February, March and April.  For more info, check it out on the church's website.

In response to the conversations and questions to recent communications about the potential loss of a Senior Pastor position, the church is hosting an open forum following each of the sanctuary services as well as in the FLC at 5pm.  Please go if you have any questions or if you are still confused as to how or why we are in this position.

This Sunday in class, we are going to briefly discuss the structure of the church (all the committees and their roles).  I know that for many of us who are not on a committee and were not raised in the Methodist church, the inner workings and structure of the church can be confusing.  This will be a great time for you to look at the way the church works and try to picture where your gifts can best be utilized.  Speaking of how you can best use your life...Jamie will be using the second half of the class to discuss the New Year and resolutions.

Thanks to all of you who made meals for the Cutrones.  Susanna wanted to let everyone know that they very much appreciated everyone's prayers and concern.  She has plenty of food in the freezer from family and friends, so they are doing well there.  She is still recovering from her biopsies but feeling much better following the good news that she was healthy.

Don't forget to look for the perfect white elephant gift as well as your ugly Christmas sweater.  Several people have asked if we are 'really' doing this, and the answer is yes!  If you haven't already RSVPd, please do so, so that the Rambergs can have a count.
